Chances are I'm only taking commissions because I'm on break from school or I need money. Your best bet is to e-mail me and ask if I'm taking commissions at the moment. When I am prices look like this:

.:Single Character, Digital (If colored), 8x10
-Head Shot/Bust Shot Uncolored/Colored - $5
-Clean Sketch: Dark, fairly clean character sketch - $10
-Lineart: Inked character - $15
-Color (Traditional, marker or colored pencil): Inked and in color, character portrait - $25
-Color (Digital, Photoshop): Inked and in color, character portrait - $30

-Add $10 for colored sketches
-Add $3 for simple backgrounds: a shape or border, two simple props, etc.
-Add $10 for a detailed background: A church, a field of flowers, an ornate bedroom, ect.
-Add $5 for each additional character, uncolored
-Add $10 for each additional colored character
-Add 5$ if you want the original for traditional media pieces or hard copy prints of digital pieces (note: all my prints are done professinonally at Kinkos)

-If you want some other size beside 8x10 we can discuss pricing
-If you have a preference on what medium is used we can discuss pricing

-I pay shipping costs.

Some other artists on the net have a Wish List. The wish list is a listing of items that they are willing to trade art for. As soon as I compile my list it will be posted. I'm also willing to trade art for commissions from other artists, who of which will be posted along with the Wish List.
