Loreli
This is a work in progress and will be continually updated.

Full Name: Loreli Eilaina Tymara (Her original name was Lorelira Eilaina Starfall, however she changed it after coming to Stormwind to sound less like a night elf name and to hide from her foster-father)
Race: Night Elf
Age: 775
Height: 6′ 10″
Build: Slim, yet muscular
Hair: A darker shade of jade, she wears it loose to her waist most of the time. Occasionally she pulls it back into a pony-tail, especially if she’s drawing.
Eyes: Night Elf glow. She’s got facial marking the same colors as her hair curving down her cheeks and up towards her hair-line from either eye.
Philosophy: Loreli spent the early years of her life unable to do much thinking for herself. Her general outlook was “do as I’m told, keep my head down, get the job done” and “kill or be killed”. After escaping her foster-father she continued to hold onto those beliefs for a long time. After coming to Stormwind, getting married and joining SI:7 she developed a sort of misguided nobility. Now it’s her famliy that matters most, and ‘family’ does not mean blood in her case.
Personality: Loreli’s childhood was hard, to say the least, non-existent to put it lightly. As such, she’s a rough and tumble type most of the time. Easy to pick a fight, whether the one to start it or to retaliate, her temper’s on a short fuse, but it burns hot and fast. She’s a bit trouble prone, it seems to follow her and her smart mouth doesn’t help. Though she’s also really good at getting out of it, usually. She can be every bit the lady when needed, however; but she prefers “Just Lore” to Lady, Madame, or Miss and has no qualms very bluntly stating so.
Job: Loreli was raised as a courtesan spy, assassin, thief.. whatever her foster-father needed, he trained her to do. Upon first arrival in Stormwind she took jobs as a mercenary and then came under the employ of SI:7. She operated with a scout contingent during the war against the Burning Legion and moved onto Northrend with them. She has since flipped the bird to SI:7 and is now employed as Security at the University. Its her ‘community’ service to Stormwind, for one too many episodes of ‘drunk and disorderly’. Her new emploment has put SI:7 in an increasingly foul mood at her, as she’s already told them to go eff themselves once…
Hobbies: Gambling-Lore loves to play cards and she’s good at. Though she’s not above cheating if she feels the other side is doing the same. And the one that always surprises people; drawing. Lore’s got a bit of talent at it, her preferred medium is charcoal, as it’s easy to get her hands on, however, she can paint too.
Bio:
Loreli’s true father-Cobalt-was a cruel and heartless man. He formed a group of spies around himself, pulling strings amongst the rich and powerful and building himself a small mobster like empire. His wife, Eilaina wasn’t wooed, she was a bribe. She gave him two daughters. The first, he had killed, along with her husband and their infant daughter. After that, Eilaina tried to escape. She was dragged back and beaten, it was then discovered she was pregnant again.
Loreli was the exact opposite of her sister. Dark and brooding, prone to temper flares, sometimes violent. Eilaina feared the effect her ‘husband’ would have on their second daughter. She took Loreli and ran again. Cobalt send a full force after them. Loreli was returned, however, Eilaina was presumed dead when she fell down a ravine.
While Cobalt was distracted with domestic issues, his second in command, Lyas staged a coup and had him killed. Lyas took over the organization and adopted Loreli as his own daughter, claiming EVERYTHING that had belonged to his former boss. Lyas saw in Loreli, the potential to be something of great value. As she grew, he taught her the arts of espionage. Memory games, how to detect a lie, how to manipulate those around her. Her training expanded to include combat, specializing in close-quarters with short weapons. She learned sleight of hand and to move without making a sound. Once she was old enough, he sent her into the ‘field’. Starting simply with pick-pocketing, they moved into thievery, spying and assassination.
One of her first assignments was getting close to a night elf suspected of gathering followers and dabbling in the arcane. Lyas wanted the names of the group for black-mail purposes. Someone else was also trying to collect the same information, albeit for a different reason. Zha’ane beat her to it. However, he was caught and beaten nearly to death. Despite her irritation at having her mission tampered with she couldn’t leave Zha’ane to his death, so she compromised her mission to get him out. She spent a few weeks taking care of him and when he was well, she disappeared back to Lyas. The latter of which was not happy about her failed mission. Lyas almost gave up hope and killed her then but in a rare moment of compassion, he spared her and gave her another chance.
Turned out she was very good at what she did, and having never known anything else, she never questioned it. Until a job went bad. She stumbled home in the dead of night beaten half to death, with a chill from the cold to boot. She spent a month recuperating. When Lyas berated her for her failure she told him she didn’t want to do it anymore. He threatened her with death if she ever tried to leave, then turned around spewing crap about her being his only daughter and how he’d never be happy if she left him and she bought it. Until the next incident. This time, instead of crawling home, she ran; and Zha’ane was waiting to return the favor she had done him years ago.
Zha’ane attempted to set Loreli on a path completely contrary to the one she knew. Honest work and honest deeds. Loreli had a hard time adapting to this and disappeared to try and make it on her own. She wandered for a number of years until finally coming to Stormwind. There she acted as a mercenary until SI:7 picked her up. It was late in the evening, she sat in the tavern in the Park District alone, until a man came over and started trying to pick-up on her. In true Loreli fashion a couple of snarky comments quickly escalated into a bar brawl. Loreli won and a few days later a night elf with midnight blue hair came to invite her to join SI:7 in exchange for protection from Lyas. It was also there that she met her first husband-Laeth-and rescued Channi, a thirteen year old girl, from Defias. Loreli eventually adopted Channi and shortly after that her marriage ended, badly, the two incidents are not related.
She then threw herself into the war in Outland. She was targeted by a rather nasty demon. The demon followed her back to Stormwind where Loreli attempted to enlist the aid of a Draenie shaman named Arliece. Arliece attempted a ritual to break the demon’s hold on Loreli. Instead shaman and demon ripped the rogue soul in twain and scattered it across Azeroth and Outland. A group of her dearest friends were two years gathering all the pieces. Arliece tried in vain to reassemble them until she finally secured them all together with a piece of her own soul. To this day, Arliece and Loreli share that soul link.
However, Stormwind help too many memories and her friends were not enough comfort. So Loreli headed into the war in Northrend looking for a sense of purpose again. Channi refused to be left behind and enlisted with her. During this time Loreli engaged in a short live relationship with her commanding officer of SI:7, which ended when Channi was taken by the scourge. Loreli fell into a depression, her now ex-boyfriend, Jaylen tried to draw her out and chose her for a scouting mission, leading a caravan of supplies across Icecrown. No one knew the man in charge of the caravan was Lore’s ex-husband.
Loreli and Laeth quarreled over the best route, when to stop to make camp, etc. The two were both so blinded by anger and bitterness, they walked right into an ambush. Loreli was the only (presumed) survivor, saved from death by a blood elf, of all things. After the ambush, her depression turned to reckless insanity and she sought out death at every turn, eventually she and Jaylen had an angry discussion concerning her recklessness. Shortly thereafter she was given another assignment by SI:7, to take out a death knight. When she discovered that death knight was Channi, she resigned her commission and returned to Stormwind, much to the irritation of SI:7.
